BED & BREAKFAST

The Purple Frog

Our Home

We are environmentally friendly  and  try to  live this way in every aspect of our life indoors as well as the outdoors.

Environmentally friendly cleaning products are used in our home.  The linens and towels are washed with enviro-friendly, fragrance free detergent still leaving them soft and luxurious.  Our home is equipped with ceiling fans throughout the house which keeps it cool enough in the summer months, therefore not needing central air-conditioning.

We have allergies to pets therefore we are unable to accommodate guests who wish to vacation with their pet.

Our home is non-smoking, however if you wish to smoke our property is large enough where you are able to outdoors.

About Us

My dream was to one day live in the country own a bed and breakfast and in 2010 when I became an empty-nester I fulfilled my dream, and shared my vision with my best friend. We came upon this beautiful home with beautiful gardens and plenty of trees and after one look this was the home that would be ideal for a bed & breakfast. Nestled in the valley our home is full of charm and character, with lots of history that we keep hearing more of everyday. The busyness of the city was left behind and living a simpler life with fresh country air has become a reality.

A little bit of Greek and a little bit of Newfie is the perfect combination for making your stay relaxing and enjoyable.  I have been in the hospitality business for many years, helping in the family business, managing restaurants in the city and later starting my business as a professional organizer. My mother was amazing in the kitchen whether it be a simple dinner or a scrumptious desert, and my father spent most of his days operating restaurants in Ontario and throughout B.C. I spend my day in the house paying attention to the smallest of details ensuring that our guests have everything they need. Breakfast has always been a favourite of mine so Marv leaves most of  the breakfast cooking for me. We offer a variety of dishes and if there is a group staying here, I will prepare an assortment  for everyone and serve it buffet style.  You will always find baked goods around the hot beverage station for you to enjoy as a special treat any time of day.

When you arrive you may notice a man in a white t-shirt and jeans near the pond or around the property looking busy. The saying "never met a Newfie I didn't like" runs true.  Marv was born in Newfoundland and moved to Ontario bringing his humour and good heart with him.  Newfies are known for their hospitality and Marv turns it on when he gets his campfire going in the early evening right through to the evening when the sky is dark and the stars can be seen. A master at cooking over the campfire, Marv has become known for preparing a gourmet dinner over natural heat.

We are a down to earth couple who wish to make your trip to the Bruce Peninsula a memorable one.
